Weaving
Weaving has long been an obsession of mine before I even began doing it. Not sure why it took me so long to take it up as part of my art practise, but I really love it as another way of using natural materials to express my passion for nature. I use naturally dyed local wools, natural fibres like nettle and flax threads, nature finds and twine to describe the colours, forms and textures in forests, gardens, stone walls, meadows and hedgerows.

How to Weave a Meadow
A large woven piece made from dried meadow flowers woven together with various hand twined plant fibres

As Long As The Meadow Blooms
A long weave made of twigs wrapped with naturally-dyed wool, natural fibres, leaves, feathers and dried meadow flowers, held together with hand twined fibres, ends dipped in beeswax – one for each day the meadow was in bloom last summer. For as long as the meadow blooms…the pollinators will come and the natural world will be ok.

Hedgerow Weave
Inspired by the tangle and colours of hedgerows, twigs and hand twined plant fibres weave together to make a beautiful weave of complimentary colours – deep reds and browns with fresh vibrant green.
