Natural Paint Making Workshop

In my studio I offer paint making workshops for children (8 +), teens and adults. Students learn about three different processes the plant and soil pigments go through to get to the powder stage and have a go at some of them. They then create their own personal paint palette by mixing the dry pigments with gum Arabic and honey to make watercolour paints and add calcium carbonate to make gouache paint. As they mix each new paint colour they record a colour swatch and label it on watercolour paper to create their personal swatch card.
