FarmArt Exhibition
As an artist-in-residence at FarmEd I found my inspiration equally from FarmEd’s big picture concepts and minute details: big landscapes, pollinators, compost and decay, plants, symbiotic relationships, worms, soil health, colour and hedgerows.
Making my own watercolour and gouache paints from plants and soil suited the FarmArt project well. The body of work I have created combines printmaking, encaustic wax, artist’s books, biome boxes, work on weathered wood and antique pieces and paintings using a bespoke paint palette inspired by, and in some cases made from, elements of FarmEd, making it authentic and unique to place.
